DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS UNDERTAKEN BY THE UNIVERSITY FOR THE FINANCIAL YEAR 2018/2019
A.PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE CENTRAL GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED REPUBLIC OF TANZANIA
1. NEW CAFETERIA AT NICHOLAS KUHANGA HOSTELS-SUA MAIN CAMPUS
The project stared to be implemented in August 2017 and was completed in January 2019.This project was funded by the Government of The United Republic of Tanzania through the Ministry of Education Science and Technology. The new constructed cafeteria has the capacity to accommodate more than 300 people at once.

2.CONSTRUCTION OF MULTIPURPOSE LABORATORY AT SUA MAINCAMPUS
This project started to be implemented in July 2018 and expected to be completed by December 2019. The main purpose of the project is to construct a multipurpose Laboratory with eight different Laboratories with capacity of accommodating 800 students at once and eight class rooms with capacity of accommodating 800 students at once. The project is funded by the Government of The United Republic of Tanzania

B. PROJECTS FUNDED BY INTERNAL GENERATED FUNDS
1. REHABILITATION OF AUXILIARY POLICE BUILDING AT SUA MAIN CAMPUS
The aim of the project was to rehabilitate and expand the existing auxiliary police building at SUA main campus in order to expand and improve its service. The project started in February, 2018 and completed in October 2018.The project is funded by the University through its internal generated income.

2.REHABILITATION OF STUDENTS HOSTELS
For the Financial year 2018/2019 Six students’ hostels were rehabilitated including Nicholaus Kuhanga Hostels Block A & B (SUA main campus), Unit one hostels wing 1,2 and 3 (Solomon Mahlangu College of Science and Education-SMC) and ICE Hostels (SUA main campus).

3.REHABILITATION OF NATIONAL ANIMAL REFFERAL HOSPITAL –SUA MAIN CAMPUS

4 .CONSTRUCTION OF BASKETBALL GROUND
The project started to be implemented in September 2018 and it is funded by the University through its internal generated income.

5.CONSTRUCTION OF NEW OFFICES FOR PhD STUDENTS AT SCHOOL OF AGRICULTURAL ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS STUDIES
This project started to be implemented in February 2017. Initially the project was funded by BSU PROJECT. However the BSU project phased out, now the project is undertaken by University through its internal generated income.

C. PROJECTS FUNDED BY THE DEVELOPMENT PATINERS
CONSTRUCTION OF ANIMAL HOUSE AT SUA MAIN CAMPUS
The project started in May 2018 aiming at constructing research Laboratory on small animals and insects. The project is funded by Africa Centre of Excellence (ACE II) IRPM Project.
